My visit to see Bugsy at the Crucible Studio
On Tuesday 6th July, I went to see our school performance of Bugsy Malone at the Crucible Studio in Sheffield.
I was really nervous for them as they came on stage. I had my fingers crossed for them. I sat with my mum and she tapped me on the shoulder and whispered, "This is brilliant!" I saw tears rolling down her face. Then I saw my three cousins, Joel, Shauna and Aidan in the play. Aidan was making me laugh when he said 'Get babyface' and realised he was Babyface! I was crying with laughter.
When it finished, I ran down the stairs and grabbed my cousins and cried.
It was a brilliant performance from all the children and I really enjoyed singing along to the songs.

Bugsy Malone
On Tuesday 6th July we went down to the crucible to perform Bugsy Malone.
At one o'clock we went on the coach from school to the Crucible Theatre in town. I was Natascha's partner and all we could talk about was our play. Finally we reached the crucible and we all sat down on the seats with our bags and packed teas.
During the afternoon we rehearsed some of the songs and scenes. The Studio was much smaller than I thought it would be, but it was a great feeling to be acting in a real theatre.
Later, in the afternoon, we went outside to eat our tea, but while we were eating I suddenly saw my mum, dad, my sister Danielle, my aunties Nicola and Cassy, my uncle Guy and finally my cousins, Ashley, Matty and Jordan. After about fifteen minutes we said goodbye, went back into the Crucible, up the stairs and into our dressing rooms. I was in a dressing room with 24 other children, so it was pretty big. There was a mirror in ours with lights all around it. Then I heard a man's voice coming over the tannoy saying, " People taking part in Bugsy Malone have thirty minutes to the performance" Then there was a scream of excitement from the dressing room next door.
Soon there was only five minutes left and we were starting to line up backstage. We had to be silent because if Mr Bainbridge caught us talking he would send us into the dock and we wouldn't go on stage for the rest of the songs. We also needed to listen for our cue lines so we knew when to come on.
When it was the interval we went back up to our dressing room to collect our clothes for the 'Down and out' song.
As soon as I walked back into the dock, for the second act, all my nerves came rushing back.
At the end of the show we did the finale and we sang 'Fat Sam's Grand Slam' again. When we finished, we gave Miss Powell, our dance teacher, some flowers for putting on the production and helping us. We also presented Ann Ford with some flowers for making all the girls dresses.
Most of the audience were crying because it was so fantastic!
My cousin Ashley came running down the stairs from the balcony and grabbed Me, Joel and Aidan and started crying, he also said it was fantastic.
Then we went back up to our dressing room and got changed into our normal clothes.
Finally we went back on the coach to school.

A report on Bugsy Malone
I went to see Limpsfield Junior School's production of Bugsy Malone. I am writing to report on what happened at the Crucible.
My first point is about the costumes. They were suited perfectly for the play. The dancers' costumes were sparkly and bright with fancy head-dresses, just like the movie. The 'gangsters' wore suits; it was amazing how they could get child sized suits.
Secondly, the music was transferred to piano music ( like it was played on the piano ). However, it kept jumping on the 'Bad guys' and the 'Tallulah' songs. It was Al's mistake. Al is the lighting and music technician.
Thirdly, the dancers were brilliant! Miss Powell thought of all the dances herself. They performed with outstanding confidence and great skill.
In conclusion, I think the show was excellent, a star rating of 9 and a half out of 10.
