Our Kitchen Staff

We have interviewed our school kitchen staff (Janet and Mrs Biggins) because we want to know more about what goes on behind the shutters!

We asked the following questions.

What time do you start work?   

The dinner lady's answered; We get up at 7:00am and start at 8:00am.

We asked Janet if she liked her job and why?

She answered-Yes, I like my job because I like to make school dinners for children with happy and smiley faces. Also they are very polite.

Do you cook dinners for Brightside school (Our infant school)?

They said-Yes, we do cook dinners for Brightside school, and this makes our jobs twice as hard as usual.

Which meals do you like cooking the most?

They said-they liked cooking cheese flan and puddings, then they asked us what meal we like best. We said lasagne (we love lasagne!).

Does it take longer to cook the new school dinners than it did the old ones?

They replied-Definitely- we have to come into work very early and start dinners as soon as possible, and even then the dinners are only just ready for the children at dinner time (12:00pm)!!!
